Frank McColloch is a 1974 graduate of the University of Texas where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree.  He has been a Certified Professional Landman since 1985.   Frank began his career as an independent petroleum landman in 1974. Later he was the land manager for Spindletop Oil and Gas Company. Frank joined Sun Oil Company in 1977.  He has held numerous land and land management positions throughout his thirty-five year career within the energy industry.

Frank is a co-founder of BMNW Resources, a company engaged in the generation of exploratory drilling prospects, primarily in East and North Texas.  Frank continues to offer consulting services in the land, unitization, joint operating and due diligence sectors of the oil and gas industry.

Frank has been a lecturer on energy related topics for the Southwestern Legal Foundation and the American Association of Petroleum Landmen.  Frank is a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen and the Dallas Association of Petroleum Landmen and was Chairman of the Annual Institute for Professional Landmen for the Southwestern Legal Foundation for several years. He is a past president of the DAPL and is currently serving his third term on its board of directors.

Frank and his wife Janet have been married for thirty-three years and have two children, Jill and Samuel.  Jill is a graduate of North Texas University and works for Neiman-Marcus in its on line catalogue.  Samuel is in his fourth year at the University of Oklahoma majoring in mechanical engineering.

Bio: Kerry is Vice President of Rosewood, Resources, Inc., where he is responsible for management of the Company's land and negotiations efforts.  Kerry previously was a Principal and Manager, Negotiations, for Amicus Oil and Gas, LLC, having returned to Dallas following eight years on the east coast where Kerry served as Counsel to Statoil Energy, Inc., General Counsel for Statoil’s E&P subsidiary, and as Senior Counsel for a US Government agency.  Kerry has broad domestic and international experience, having begun his career with  Trancontinental Energy, including serving as Attorney for the Company specializing in E&P and finance matters.  After Transcontinental, Kerry was a Land Manager with Rosewood Resources in Dallas and also supported the Company’s international operations.  Following Rosewood, Kerry was a Senior Attorney for Arco’s international division where he was responsible for the Company’s new venture activities in the Middle East.

Bio: Diana Millsap is a native of Dallas and currently resides in Argyle, Texas.  She is a Landman with J-W Operating Company where she has been employed for 21 years.  She is currently working the Haynesville play in N. Louisiana.  She has also worked Texas, Oklahoma, Colorado and Mississippi.  Her career in oil and gas began in 1979 working for a small oil and gas company in the E&P Department.  She started her career in Land in 1980 and has worked all land related functions associated with the Land Department.  She has been an active member of DAPL and AAPL for many years where she is in her third term on the DAPL Board of Directors as 2nd Vice President – Membership.  She enjoys spending her free time playing golf, enjoying the outdoors and pampering her four dogs.

Bio: Kevin is a 1999 graduate of The University of Oklahoma with a BBA specializing in PLM/EM. Kevin’s career started with Nichols Land Services in Oklahoma City, OK in 1997.  Upon graduating from OU, Kevin moved to Houston, TX in 2000 for Coastal Oil and Gas Company, which later became El Paso Corporation in 2001.  Kevin was responsible for the Texas Gulf Coast and South Texas.  In 2004 he moved to Dallas for Hunt Oil Company working various regions, including South Louisiana, South Texas, East Texas, Oklahoma and Arkansas. Kevin then joined International Mining Company in 2006 to manage IMC’s properties nationwide, including Oklahoma, North Texas, East Texas, Arkansas, North Louisiana, Kansas, and California.  Kevin is currently IMC’s Vice President of Land & Minerals, responsible for managing all facets of exploration and development of the company’s mineral holdings.

Kevin is currently serving his third term on the Board of Directors for DAPL as 3rd Vice President and responsible for the development and oversight of DAPL’s website.  Nationally, Kevin has served 4 terms on AAPL’s Next Generation Landman Committee, including terms as Chairman and past Chairman, and is currently serving his first term on the AAPL Publications Committee.

Kevin currently resides in Prosper, TX with his wife Angie, who currently serves as the household Registered Nurse, and three children; Natalie – age 5 – aspiring fashion designer; Lainey – age 3 – domestic graffiti artist extraordinaire; and Rhett – age 1 – future Sooner linebacker.  Kevin serves in the children’s ministry in his local church and his hobbies include “fun daddy stuff”, softball, golf and rooting for his Oklahoma Sooners.

Bio: W.B. (Bill) Phillips is Regional Land Manager of the US Onshore business unit for Hunt Oil Company in Dallas, Texas. Bill received a PLM degree from The University of Texas at Austin and has over 30 years of industry experience. Bill has extensive experience domestically and internationally as former Vice President of Land for The Wiser Oil Company and Business Development Manager for Marsh Operating Company. Bill is a frequent speaker to various industry trade organizations such as ALTA, PLANO, NGL and others, including the TCU Energy Institute and the University of Texas. Bill is member in the DAPL, PBLA, OCAPL, AAPL, ADAM and has served on the AAPL education committee. Bill was the 1992 AAPL recipient of the Citizen of the Year Award and serves on various association boards and committees.

Bill has been involved in the re-establishment of the PLM program at The University of Texas and involved with the new TCU Energy Institute. He is an instrument rated multi engine pilot, likes to hunt and fish, and plays bad golf.

Bio: Adam is a Landman with Eland Energy Inc. and is currently working operated properties in South Texas, Louisiana Mississippi and Alabama along with all non-operated properties in those regions. He is heading up leasing operations in Mississippi, Alabama and South Texas at the current time. Adam graduated with a BBA in Petroleum Land Management from Texas Tech University a few years back and has been working ever since. His first job in the Land business was an internship, while in college, with Equitable Resources located in Pittsburg, PA. He worked out of various field offices in West Virginia, Virginia and Kentucky for Equitable while learning multiple aspects of the land business. After College he accepted a job with Merit Energy Company and worked the Western Rockies Region, mostly dealing with federal units in Wyoming and Utah. He was with Merit for almost 2 years when he accepted a job from his current employer.

Adam has been a member of AAPL and a Member of DAPL since 2005 and is looking to stay involved for years to come.

Bio: Kelly Kessler is a Land Negotiator with EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc., and has previously worked EnCana’s CVS and Haynesville areas in East Texas and Louisiana.  She is currently working on a USA Division-wide special Land project.  Kelly graduated from the University of Oklahoma, and her career in the oil and gas industry began in Oklahoma in 1979.  She was active within the State of Oklahoma until being transferred to Dallas in 1986.  Prior to joining EnCana, Kelly worked for various small independent energy companies, including Harding Company, where she was active in their Barnett Shale joint venture with ExxonMobil.  Her area of focus since 1986 has been Texas, but she has also worked Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana, and Oklahoma.

She has been an active member of DAPL and AAPL (CPL certification) for many years, and the highlight of her community involvement has included her extended work with the Autism Society of Collin County (ASCC), where she has served as a Second Vice President, as well as several terms as an active Board Member.  As DAPL’s Sergeant-at-Arms for 2009-2010, she will work with other DAPL Officers and Board Members to plan and arrange DAPL’s meetings each month.  Kelly is in her second year on the DAPL Board of Directors, where she was previously Assistant Membership Director.  She is looking forward to continuing her support of the DAPL, from whom she has benefited so much over the years.

Kelly and her husband, Mike, live in Frisco, and have three children, Meghan (20), Grayson (19), and Andrew (17).

Kyle graduated from the University of Kansas in 2004.  After graduation, Kyle accepted a broker position with JIMAR Resources Corporation.  While at JIMAR, Kyle was involved in courthouse title research and acquisition teams, as well as an in-house contract lease research group at XTO Energy.  Kyle joined the Land Department of Merit Energy Company in February of 2007, immediately focusing on development in the Barnett Shale, Central Louisiana, and West Arkansas.  In July of 2008, he joined the company’s North Division to concentrate on landwork in the East and West Rockies regions.

Kyle and his wife Ashley have been married for five years and they have a two year old daughter, Molly.

Bio: Kyle graduated from the University of Oklahoma in December 2008 with a PLM/EM Degree.  He completed internships at Merit Energy Company during the 2006, 2007, and 2008 summers.  Kyle worked in the DJ Basin in Colorado and Michigan regions during his internships, where he continues to work Michigan properties.  Kyle is in his first year of being on the DAPL Board of Directors.

 

Kyle’s hobbies include golf, tennis, softball, working out, and traveling.  He also enjoys attending Oklahoma Sooner football and basketball games.

Bio:

Jason is a graduate of The University of Oklahoma. After a few years of collegiate athletics he was introduced to Energy Management by Ted Jacobs, the former director of EM at OU.  Jason went on to graduate with a degree in EM, formerly PLM.  During summer breaks he successfully performed two internships with EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. in Denver.  Jason worked the Wind River and Green River Basins in Wyoming and the Denver Julesburg Basin in Colorado.  During the school year Jason worked with local brokers and ran title in Oklahoma courthouses.  After graduation from OU he accepted a full-time position with EnCana Oil & Gas (USA) Inc. in EnCana’s Dallas office, formerly Tom Brown Inc.  He has worked the Deep Bossier play in East Texas for four years and currently works EnCana’s prolific Haynesville play located in DeSoto Parish, Louisiana.  Jason’s official title is Land Negotiator and he is responsible for all facets of Land from running brokers, title curative (clearing wells), leasing, acquisition and divestiture to joint development projects with other companies.  

 

Jason is in his fourth year on the DAPL Board of Directors and has served as the Publication/NGL Director the three previous years.   For the DAPL Jason is responsible for the all advertising duties including billing & design of advertisements in the DAPL newsletter and DAPL website, philanthropic activities, scholarships, university relations and awards.   Jason served on the AAPL Southwest Land Institute Committee in 2006 and is currently serving in his first term on both the AAPL Educational Committee & the AAPL Publication Committee.

 

Jason resides in Carrollton, TX with his wife Dr. Lezlie Maloy, a Sports Chiropractor, and his dog Bailey, a boxer, who loves wearing her Sooner jersey on game days.  Jason likes all athletics but truly loves watching his Oklahoma Sooners on Saturday afternoons in the fall.  He enjoys competing in triathlon events around the country and was recently named to Team Ironhead, one of the most elite triathlon teams in the DFW metroplex.

Bio: Bill is a 1977 graduate of The University of Oklahoma with a PLM Degree. Bill’s career started in 1977 with Amoco Production Company in New Orleans, before moving to Dallas in 1980 with Universal Resources Corporation. Bill joined Hunt Oil Company in 1987, and during his 21+ years at Hunt Oil, he has taken on increasing responsibilities as Assistant Director of International Negotiations, U.S. Land Manager and currently is Hunt’s Vice President of U.S. Land & Negotiations, responsible for the company’s U.S. land & negotiations for energy ventures for onshore and offshore U.S. regions.

 

Bill is currently serving his fourth term on the Board of Directors for DAPL, including serving as President from 1990-1991. Bill has also served as DAPL’s Director to the AAPL on three different occasions. On the national level, Bill has served on AAPL’s Executive Committee, and served as past Chairman of the Industry Affairs, Public Land Access, and Legislative/Regulatory Committees. He has also served on the Issues Management Council, and the Membership, Advertising and Ethics Committees. Bill has also served AAPL and IPAA as a member of the Board of Directors for NAPE and served as Chairman of the NAPE in 2001.

 

Bill is married to Jan and has three children:  Stephanie Rex Gannaway,  an OU Energy Land Management graduate and Landman with Marathon Oil in Houston; Kevin, a recent graduate of Oklahoma State University’s Aviation Management program; and Michael, a junior at North Texas University, majoring in International Studies and preparing to enter law school upon graduation; three step children, and a son and daughter-in law. Bill’s  hobbies include spending time with family, traveling, Oklahoma football, and other spectator sports.

Bio:

Brooks is a graduate of the University of Mississippi, and began his career in the oil and gas business in Jackson, Mississippi as a landman for Hunt Energy Corporation. Hunt Energy transferred him to Shreveport, Louisiana, then Dallas. A portion of his nine year tenure with the Hunt’s was with Placid Oil Company, and then Brooks moved to Land Manager of The Rudman Partnership where he stayed ten years. In 2000 Brooks left Rudman and became a partner and Vice President of Land for Ventex Oil & Gas, Inc. in Dallas where he is presently.

 

Brooks is currently serving his third term on the Board of Directors of DAPL, where he just completed his second term as President. He is also currently serving as AAPL’s Chairman of the Publication Committee. Brooks has served three terms as AAPL Director representing DAPL, has served as a committee member of the AAPL Ethics Committee, Awards Committee, and Chairman of AAPL’s Education Foundation Fundraising Committee.

 

Brooks is married to Linda and has three children, Jack (18), Liza (17), and Ford (14). He is a Deacon at Highland Park Presbyterian Church where he has been a member since moving to Dallas in 1985.
